Abstract:

The author has been using Chinese herbal medicine to treat people via video call consultations through the pandemic, with good success. She has carefully observed, analysed, classified and summarized the symptoms. She highlighted that the covid virus affects not only the function of the lung, but also affects the function of the spleen, herat, liver and kidney.

She has mainly seen the following four types of disease: Suspected Covid-19, Covid-19 mild cases, Post virus syndromes and Covid-19 related stress syndrome. She has created treatment principles and selected suitable prescriptions for each Zang Fu system, according to the different symptoms and differentiations; giving great guidance to clinical practice and study.

Profile:

Prof. Shulan Tang gained a bachelor’s degree in Medicine at Nanjing university of Chinese Medicine in 1984 and obtained a Master degree in Medicine at Beijing University of Chinese Medicine in 1987.

Shulan came to Manchester UK in 1991. Since then she has been practicing and teaching Chinese Medicine in Manchester, the UK, Europe and across the world.

Currently, Shulan is the principal of Shulan College of Chinese Medicine, PhD supervisor of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, a Senior Practitioner of the British Acupuncture Council and the Register of Chinese herbal medicine. She has published over 60 academic articles, and is the Chief Editor of 《 Chinese Herbal Patent Book》, and Vice Chief Editor of the core, international text book of 《 TCM Gynecology 》.
